Local Racer wins First in class at Lexington, Ky. car show!

Daniel Gillahan has once again proven himself a winner! This time Daniel is a winner off of the racetrack.  Daniel is now a contender on the car show circuit.Daniel At The Line

Daniel was excited to receive an invitation to show his car, "The Leprechaun", at the Kentucky Car Show held at Heritage Hall in Lexington, Ky. On January 13th, Daniel and his Dad (Joe), loaded up The Leprechaun and headed to the big city. That evening Daniel joined 150 drivers in setting up a display in order to show their cars. The car show began at 9 am on Saturday and went through Sunday evening. During this time hundreds of people viewed Daniel's car and visited with Daniel and his Dad.

Daniel was quite excited to use the opportunity to show his car and share with others about JR Drag Racing. He also promoted his sponsors; Hudson Carpets, Shepherd Auto Parts, McGee Racing Cams, L J White Custom Paint and Digitron Data Systems.

Daniel's display looked great thanks to Hudson Carpets who supplied carpeting for The Leprechaun to sit on. Also, Daniel appreciated his mom's efforts in creating display boards for DDJ Motorsports. However, the most "Eye Catching" part of the display was The Leprechaun. The magnificent paint job provided by L J White Custom Paint drew quite a crowd.

However there was one problem with the paint job. It was too perfect, as the judges thought the graphics on the car were vinyl instead of being hand painted. This misconception cost Daniel the "Best Paint" trophy. Daniel still came out on top in the end by winning First in Class and Fifth in show.
